Memorial Weekend Poker

Happy holiday weekend and gotta love it it’s sunday tons of choices at home on what to play. I decided to just cruise and play the sunday 10 huge field PS. Made it a long way through and made it to cash in the low low funds but did it. Learning curve on how to make your way through the landmines and hold your own. Played a couple of sitngos and hit when I played well for $40 at one and less on the other. Just a casual holiday playing no stress poker. Then went on to FT to play cash and triple up on cash wow was that fun, lots of action on the weekends.

Busted out early on the LPS ladies tournie congratulations to Pokemom for taking it down see you all next week.

Sunday PS played the 20,000 field and busted out early. Onto a Horse tourney for $10 and cashed before the final table. Played cash and was able to pick up some funds. Played with all the great LPS at 5pm on PS all twelve two tables busted out early and had a great time.

Well as you all know I have been pretty sick and due to alot of your prayers am definitely on the road to recovery. Though it may be slow I do know that all those prayers fromall ya’ll Lady PokerSharks were definitely needed, wanted, and appreciated. Let me tell you those gaggles of prayers worked and I want to thank you all for keeping me in your prayers. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

So I am at home in pain, can’t find any position to get comfortable and only can sit up for short spans of time. Yet sick as I am I am dying to play poker after three or four days of doing nothing but being sick. So sick of being sick and not being able to do anything. So I prop myself up and fire up the computer, not truly a time you can expect to play your A game but there I was trying. No big buyins as I may not be able to make it through may have to lay down again, no big fields as it may take longer than I have to sit up. So I did play a few sit n gos and was able to cash $43 and $126 and win a satellite for a $650 seat satellite for the ME, I was smart enough to unregister as I knew I was really not up for playing in that satellite last sunday and wouldn’t have truly played well. So sick and not so pleasant company I was able to do a little poker playing and catch a little something, made me a little happier. I am not a good patient believe me could call me a little cranky at times. So I am truly on the mend and so glad. Thanks to all the LPS for prayers and good thoughts meant alot to me Oh and I was able to come in second in the PS LPS tourney on mothers day.

Why Why do I repeat some Mistakes

Okay it’s sunday I have been playing alot of cash play in the last week or so and doing really well at building my bankroll. NL Holdem and HORSE I am doing okay and being really consistent with my play. So I decide I am going to win a seat for the qualifier on PS to the Main event. Okay so I go in the low rebuy tourney $8 and get $24 invested and I win my seat yeah sunday I play. So it’s sunday and I am all ready to go figure it starts at 3pm and it’s gonna take a good eight to ten hours to get into that 23 top packages, it gets so slow when we get down to the bubble. But I don’t have to worry about that I am playing well building my stack and garnering all the info on my opponents at my table. I watch seat two and three go at it and get all there money in preflop with aa and kk yep k comes on flop and aa is gone, seat 3 is on a roll and he’s taking down one, two, three yep he is a luckbox and my motto is stay away from the luckbox while he’s on his roll till you absolutely have to deal with him. I preach this and know in my heart it has worked for me time and time again, do I listen not always and not on sunday. I raised with qq and he reraised, he had been in the last eight to ten hands could he have yet another monster I don’t think so, could I lay down my qq yes, and go on to get where I am going yes, do I? NOOOOOOOOOO I don’t i go against my gut I rush my decision and when he goes all in over the top I call the luckbox for what reason ? go figure? I know better I could have taken more time to think, I would then maybe have come to some rational decision, but I didn’t and I paid the price, I was so disturbed with myself I just could not fathom how I made that stupid mistake, but we live to play another day and win another seat and then win a package to the main event. Wow isn’t that wonderful we can still try again and learn not to repeat our mistakes.

HORSE BUBBLE

60 of us or thereabouts $30 entry and I am playing well took a couple of hits in the early rounds when blinds and antes was able to recoup and accrue chips in my stack. Got move a couple of times and get seated next to Mr Luck who is on a roll, but at least I know this he turns over whatever and hits, he’s on his rush best to stay out of his way with anything right now that is not thee nuts. I am able to stay up there and make my way through this battle field avoiding the luck man who is taking them out one by one. Then what can I say I lost focus, I lost sight of my goal, I froze or I just got stupid but I stopped playing my A game and strategy that I know and know well and bubbled went out ninth missing the final table and the money. Go figure how I could just miss the final table and yes it was my fault and only my fault I could have been at the final table and in contention for 1st. I will be next time as I will carry this lesson with me and look back and say oh no not this time, I am going on to win.

Easter Sunday

Well I hope all the LPS had a happy easter sunday, I did and with that I played a little poker the 20,000 entry 10 +1 at PS I played well and had some great starting hands that didn’t come to fruition, got drawn out on quite a few times, and made some moves that didn’t work and took some bad beats which are all a part of poker and with that large field you expect it. I had a great time learned some more about my play and attitude. Also signed up for a 10 + 1 HORSE there were about 160 entries finished 29th to cash for 30. Again I learned more about my play and again I had a great time WOW I love to play poker and on Easter Sunday to relax play poker and eat tons of wonderful food how great is that?

I too am another that has gone awol and forgotten how to type. Blogging left by the wayside way too long. So I am back and in hopes that I can keep a better schedule with much more consistency on the blog. But I sure do enjoy reading all the others.

I decided last night I would play a RAZZ tourney just a few entries and only $10 figured I could work on my RAZZ game as I do play Horse but do not usually play tournies that are soley RAZZ. So off I went and I was into the game worked my way up, tried some varied moves and strategies. Observed my opponents well and overall played well made the final table and went out third for $140.00.

Vacation on Cash

Hey there I have been so busy lately as I am sure we all are. I took a little vacation from tournaments and just played cash games. I like to keep up my cash play as well as the tourney play being a totally different animal cash games. I decided to just relax when I could during the last few weeks and when I had some time to play cash and focus on that and various games. I really do want to focus this year 2008 on becoming more rounded, more versatile and a better player at not just NL, but Omaha, Stud, Razz, and still keep my hand in on my limit game. I do enjoy all the games eight or better too. I love playing Horse and in general I wanted to bulk up my bankroll and strength my cash play. Well I was well pleased with myself when I had sometime I did just what I set out to do. I sat down and played Horse I played well against my table and I upped my bank. I played some limit and some omaha eight or better and I played well and made some money and overall really enjoyed myself. I remembered how much I do love to play the cash tables as well as the tournaments. So I am happy and I will pick up my tournament play again shortly I am looking to schedule 2008 for the entire year where, when, what I am playing trying to be focused and organized setting up all my plans way ahead of time to let the stress down. So I can get there and play well.

Weathering the Roller Coaster

I was playing for several hours today and I say I was playing well. Making good decisions, putting my opponents on the correct hand using my position and really thinking out each situation to my benefit. Moving up the ladder on my tournament, accruing chips and closing in on the money. I am playing to win and win 1st place then it is the time in the tourney when the blinds and antes have become astronomical and we begin to have an all in fest. I am aware that this takes place at sometime in most all tournaments and I do the math and listen to my gut and play but also protect the stack I have built. We are down to the bubble and I am in a hand I flop a straight, the nut straight at this point and I bet, he raises and I push. I have the nuts at this point and he calls my all in we have the same amount of chips. Do we have the same hand? No I don’t think so he turns over one pair, I can’t believe he called, did he think I was bluffing? Then it’s the turn the board pairs giving him two pairs to my straight and Ta Da the miracle card it comes down the river makes three of a kind on board and he makes a full house with one card in his hand. Yes that is Poker, I rethink my play what could I have done to change this outcome, did I play it wrong? I have a habit of beating myself when analyzing my play after my game which I always do (the analysis that is) trying to not be so hard on myself and just constructively take my game apart for future learning. The emotional roller coaster is a part of poker and I have done well at taking the emotion out of the game for me, not taking hands personal, congratulating myself when I played well and just took a bad beat. Luck is a factor in the game, we all know we must win races and have some luck to win. No I got it all in with the best hand I don’t see how I could have gotten away from the hand and yes he had some outrageous luck to get runner runner. But it does not always happen that way and I am on to another day and another tourney. Good Luck at the tables Ladies

Together with our networking and sharing we can thrive and take the male dominated poker world by storm. Our forum is an invaluable learning tool and with the support of all the LPS we can do and will do the most difficult of feats. As we turn out in bigger and bigger numbers to both women’s and mixed events our percentages are elevated and we start getting noticed with the number of wins we take down. LPS are serious poker players and the forum is a site that has enabled women to gather and really support each other on their poker journey.
